As every year, also this year the Májka and witch burning were held at Boží Dar. These festivities are quite popular in our country. Many of us gather in the square, helping with the fire preparations and building the maypole. In the evening, we roast sausages, talk and drink beer. Later, someone comes with a guitar and starts playing and singing. Everyone around joins in the singing, creating a beautiful camp atmosphere that we all experienced at least once when we were little, which lasts until the morning. If you want to get more in touch with the locals, the “witches” and Májka are an obvious choice! And lest we forget, at the end of May, during the Maypole cutting, a theatre is performed by the volunteer firefighters of Boží Dar. Some rooms are still available and this is definitely worth seeing .
